An investigation into plastination techniques
Research Overview
I am currently producing a number of prosecutions for the purpose of teaching medical, dental and anatomy students. Working on both formalin and thiel embalmed cadavers. I am also aiding the set up of the new plastination lab. This facility will allow us to preserve specimens for a longer period of time by impregnating them with silicone. In addition to this I aid in the day to day running of the mortuary by assisting in the thiel embalming process.
I am also currently curating the departments extensive comparative osteology collection
I have a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Dundee and have a keen interest in clinical anatomy, a field in which I hope to pursue research later in my career.
