Megan Williams - BSc Forensic Anthropology

“Studying at CAHID is a brilliant opportunity. If you get an offer, you should definitely accept it! You are getting to study within a leading forensic institute and are being taught by staff who are actively working in the field.”

“Whilst I was still at high school, I attended a science fair where lots of universities were hosting workshops. I’d always been passionate about human anatomy, so the University of Dundee’s workshop on animal and human bones immediately caught my attention.

“This was followed by a really interesting lecture by Dr Xanthe Mallett, a former member of staff at the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification. From that day on, I was absolutely determined to study forensic anthropology here at Dundee.

“CAHID has the best forensic anthropology department in the UK. I love and value the emphasis on anatomy and the dissections we learn from are second to none, especially as the cadavers are preserved using the Thiel method.

“Over the summer I’ll be helping with research into craniometrics and mtDNA, and how they relate to ancestry. I feel that this great opportunity will develop my course related skills before I embark on my final years.

“I would describe studying at CAHID as a brilliant opportunity. If you get an offer, you should definitely accept it! You are getting to study within a leading Forensic institute and you are being taught by staff are who actively working in the field.

“You are literally immersed in the world that you are striving to be a part of. The anatomy facilities are excellent and you are exposed to key research being carried out in the forensic field.”
